Cartoon examination pt.7

1. This cartoon is titled "Radioactive Partisanship" and it invokes the relationship between democrats and republicans before the supposed shutdown. 

2. The artist exhibits two men in radiation absorbing suits cooling down the house of congress like the Japanese did to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant 60 miles northeast of Tokyo, but they claim it will have no affect.

4. The message of this is that sometimes efforts towards preventing disaster are meaningless because the end results can be the same as they were if nothing was done to prevent it.

6. This is satirical because it is comical and grossly exaggerated, the government meltdown the two people were trying to prevent never occurred and if it did it would still pale in comparison to an actual nuclear crisis. 

     

Cartoon Examination pt.6

1. This cartoon is titled "Paul Ryan's Budget Cuts"  it shows the irony of the compromised budget cuts established by Paul Ryan a republican from Wiscosin.

2. The artist exibits the what spending is currently going to be cut from the budget by comically showing Paul Ryan giving himself half of a buzz-cut. 

3. In the cartoon Paul Ryan is cutting the left half of his hair which is composed of several programs such as medicaid,home morgage deduction, and medicare; however he is ignoring the largest part of his hair which is represents the continution of the bush tax cuts to the rich. In the backround you see serums and shampoos which are supposed to stimulate or help the economy but in reality don't one of these serums being flat tax.

4.  I believe that message of this is when a republican says that something "is perfectly balanced" it most likely is geared towards the conservative agenda. Also another message of this is that economic policies from the eighties that did not work then will not work now. 

5. This of great political signifigance because the programs that are being cut affect a larger population of people then that of the upper 2% of Americans. I believe the reason why there is no much compliant from the american people is because not many american people are aware of thier economic situation. Most people assume that they are middle-class however a majority of the people throughout the country that are affected by the budget cuts are members of the working poor. 

6. This is not satirical because although it is comical it is not crossly exaggerated but instead factual.      

Cartoon Examination pt.5

1. This is cartoon titled "Campaign 2012", this portrays the supposed views of the American people.

2. The artist shows that Obama's 2012 campaign can not be the same as his 2008 campaign because the people either expected too much or believed that Obama did not live up to his expectations.

3. In the cartoon a campaign manager for Obama unveils his prototype for the poster that will be used for the 2012 campaign against a sub-par Republican hopeful, however instead instilling hope or pride, in the poster reflects uncertainty.

4. I believe the message is people that are in office for an allotted amount of time that ran such an amazing campaign in the past that inspired so many, can not expect such high hopes a second time around because in reality there is no way that the could ever live up to their own hype.

The political significance is rather rather high. If Obama runs a bad, bland, or uninspired campaign then there is a chance that a republican could take office in 2012. *then the Mayan calender will reset the world will be engulfed in flames and the world as we know it cease to exist (allegedly)               

Cartoon Examination pt.4

1. This comic is titled "Obama Hears a Hu", this portrays the foreign relations between the United States and China.

2.The artist reflects Obama's blissful ignorance towards the way President Jintao runs his country.

3. The artist references the famous Dr. Seuss book "Horton hears a who" in shifts so that Obama becomes Horton and he is hearing the request of Hu Jintao.

4.I believe that the message of this cartoon is that so long as we are indebted to the Chinese, the country as a whole can not call out China for any outrageous actions made towards their own people. 

5.  The political significance involves American foreign policy. It is impossible for the nation as a whole to speak out against any country that could potentially own us in a few decades.         

Cartoon Examination pt.3

1. This is the cartoon titled "mad as hell", the title portrays the current views of the tea party.

2.The artist portrays members of the tea party along with their advocates to be loud, obnoxious, and misinformed

3.The artist shows a rather portly Rush Limbaugh character complaining about taxes and another man informing him that he is wrong. However the man in the black t-shirt responds with an extremely outlandish statement "Obama is Hitler".

4. I believe that the message is that crazy/moronic people do not require logic or facts to rant, they just need to have a firm belief in the nonsense that they speak.

5. The political significance of this is that the tea party was a grassroots party based completely on ignorance (and possibly racism) and if they were ever to get the majority seat in either houses, the results could be apocalyptic.

Cartoon examination pt.2

1.This is "Groundhog day 2011", the title is self explanatory and i doubt there is a deeper meaning to it.

2.The artist creates a rather humorous rendition of Sarah Palin waiting for Phil to leave his burrow. The artist probably intended to show that Sarah Palin was a gun nut or a heartless hunter.

3.Sarah Palin lies in wait for Phil gun cocked and ready to fire. It shows that she has intention to shoot him but shows no particular reason, cause , or drive.

4.I believe the message is to not trust Sarah Palin around your groundhog! Also that the former governor of Alaska has become the poster child for hunting and armaments freedoms.

5.This has no political significance but instead represents the day in which the Northern half of the U.S. rely on a fuzzy rodent rather then satellites and weather balloons.

6. This is satirical because in all honesty Sarah Palin is not a an immenant threat to our groundhogs and furthermore she most likely is not a gun-toting bafoon...however I put nothing past Lady Vlad Impalin.

Cartoon examination pt.1

1. "Gadhafi Ductator", a comical rendering of an aged dictator that, as noted, is despicable. Muammar Gaddafi dictator of the nation of Libya was know recently for bombarding his own people when they called for revolution. Americans have forgotten about the tyranny of Gadhafi because he had no affilation with the 2001 terrorist attacks. However he is still and will always be a monster.

2. The artist potrays Gadhafi as a comical figure from the Looney Tunes series, Daffy Duck. By doing this he has minimize him as a threat by morphing him into a laughable character.

3.The Ductator appears to closing his act and and saying that all folks, but he is also looking at himselfand realizing that he himself is deplorable.

This can either come from a Liberal or moderate prespective because brings the dictator to light and notes his flaws but there is not much action occurring to ratify it.

4.This relates to the bombardments in Libya after the Libyan people attempted to unify.
